St Paul Welcomes Tasty New Rivalry with Rival House Restaurant at DoubleTree Hotel

There’s a new rivalry in town, and you’re at the center of it at Rival House Sporting Parlour, a new sporting themed restaurant in the heart of St. Paul’s Lowertown.

Located adjacent to the DoubleTree by Hilton at 411 Minnesota Street in downtown St. Paul, Rival House is the newest concept from Graves Hospitality Corporation.

Rival House harkens to an era when social clubs were celebrated neighborhood institutions, serving up interactive entertainment, delicious foods and an enviable selection of beers and cocktails, all in a captivating vintage-industrial space.

“Rival House is a strategic concept for Lowertown, bringing creative options for dining and recreation to an already bustling daytime neighborhood that is hungry for additional nightlife options,” said Benjamin Graves, principal and COO, Graves Hospitality. “Rival House will serve both crowds well, and will quickly become the go-to social destination for both the neighborhood and for people coming into town attending sport and theater events.”

In 2013 the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe purchased the DoubleTree by Hilton in a two-hotel deal that also included the Crowne Plaza St. Paul Riverfront. Graves Hospitality Corporation manages both properties for the Band. Joe Nayquonabe, Jr., Commissioner of Corporate Affairs for the Mille Lacs Band, had big plans for the property right from the beginning.

“When we purchased the DoubleTree, we promised St. Paul that we would create a restaurant that was open to the entire community,” said Nayquonabe. “With the opening of Rival House and the new entrance onto Minnesota Street, we’ve delivered on that promise in an exciting way.”

What to Eat, Drink, Do

One of the most unique aspects of the Rival House is its eclectic menu.

Fans of the Red Wagon Pizza Company will recognize the tastes of wood-fired artisanal pizzas curated by the one and only “Pizza Pete” Campbell. Made with delicious, farm-fresh ingredients crowning a heritage wheat crust, Rival House is sure to quickly become a mainstay for local pizza connoisseurs.

In addition, Executive Chef Andy Vyskocil brings an innovative and artistic infusion of globally influenced snacks and entrees to Rival House. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a happy hour on our incredible patio, or are hungry to try our lunch, dinner or late-night dining options, Rival House is sure to satisfy your craving for unique food and drinks.

And speaking of drinks, Rival House boasts Cicerone certified “beer sommelier” servers with an unparalleled level of knowledge, offering patrons a drinking experience like no other. Guests can choose from 24 on-tap craft brews, beer-focused cocktails or a wide selection of premium spirits and beverages assembled by the award-winning expert mixologists at Bradstreet Craftshouse.

At Rival House, the fun doesn’t end with the food and drink. Guests can take in sports events on the big screen TVs, or partake in a rivalry of their own with a game of pinball, Skee-Ball, or table top games like Jenga. Feeling a little more active? Challenge a rival to a game of ping pong in the Rival Room – a multi- use space that can also be reserved for events.

The fun is now open. Eat. Play. Drink. Rematch. The revelry doesn’t stop until you do.
